Scott Atkinson - Director and Chairperson
Scott started work in the IT industry with IBM straight out of university. Five years later, he left to start an IT consulting company Netforce which, in 1999, signed its first managed services agreement. Over time, the managed service recurring revenue model in Netforce was built up and eventually the business was sold to Dimension Data in 2010. In 2014 Scott joined BigAir (ASX:BGL) to help establish and grow the Cloud and Managed Services side of the business. Scott joined TribeTech in 2018 to build a ‘modern MSP’ using the learnings of the last 20 years about what to do (and what not to do). Scott is currently busy fulfilling TribeTech’s growth ambitions.
Scott is actively involved with Streetwork, a not-for-profit that mentors vulnerable young people to help turn their lives around.
Scott has a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Science (Computing) from QUT and an Executive MBA from AGSM/UNSW.
Wayne Small - CEO
Wayne has been involved in the SMBiT Community for over 25 years. He was instrumental in kickstarting the original Small Business Server User Groups in Australia that ultimately led to the creation of the SMBiT Professionals as an association.
While contributing to the community over the years, Wayne started an MSP business (Correct Solutions) in 1997 and focused on the needs of the SMB clients. Along the way, Wayne expanded the management team and took on additional business partners. The combination of new skill set saw Correct Solutions grow to a 60 staff business with multi million dollar revenues. Correct was highly respected by their team, clients, suppliers and competitors for being straight shooters, that told it like they saw it and provided awesome value for money solutions.
Wayne has been well awarded throughout his career, including being nominated a Microsoft MVP for 16 years running for the work he did in community around the Microsoft Server products. Wayne has also been inducted into the CRN Australia Hall of Fame for community service along with the likes of Steve Jobs, Bill Gates and other industry luminaries.
In 2021, Wayne and his partners sold Correct Solutions and transitioned the team into the new owners Orro Group. The sale gave Wayne the opportunity to step back and consider how he could best help the SMBiT community, and in 2022 was selected to become CEO of SMBiT Professionals.
Wayne brings to the table a wide range of experience, not only at a deep technical level, but also across management, team and individual mentoring, sales and marketing. His fervent desire is to share his passion of technology with everyone that wants to learn and benefit from it. Wayne can talk from a high level suited for CEO/Board Level discussions right down to the bits n bytes with the techies doing the work.
Vivien Dehamer - Company Secretary and Operations Manager
With extensive experience gained within the corporate and IT provider markets in Australia and UK, Vivien is a highly experienced and effective administrator. Prior to joining SMBiT Professionals in 2011, Vivien gained significant conference management and stakeholder engagement experience within her roles as the Administration Manager of IT Now Group and Executive Assistant to the CEO of Aviva Australia. Within her role at SMBiT Professionals, Vivien provides a critical point of contact for the Board, National Executive Committee, Members and Sponsors.
Zoe Rickard - Director and Treasurer
Zoe started F1 Business Pty Ltd over 4 years ago servicing the small to medium business market. Before that worked as an IT specialist for Calculation IT.
Shannan Jones - Director
Shannan runs Cybersite Solutions, a managed services provider based in Perth focusing on the SMB market, and celebrates its 10th year this year, along with continuing to be a Microsoft Silver Partner. He is currently President of the Perth Chapter and has been a SMBiT Professionals member since August 2012. Shannan has been active within SMBiT Professionals in bringing several deals to members, along with being an active member in many other IT groups giving him insight into the small business IT industry both locally and globally.
Aaron Jervis - Director
With 22 years in the IT Industry, Aaron began his career working for several North QLD based IT companies, learning all the things not to do in an IT Business, before founding Reef IT in the early 2000’s. Growing the business from a single man operation to a team of 12, servicing clients across North QLD. Aaron has been with SMBIT Pros since the SBS User Groups days (12+ years at least) and has a strong belief in sharing knowledge and best practices to help make the industry stronger as a whole.
David Perkovic - Director
David started DP Computing in 1993 and has been a member of SMBiT Professionals since their inception in 2009. With a head office in Adelaide and an office in Sydney, DP Computing supports clients across Australia. With over 30 years in the industry David understands the issues small business owners face when it comes to IT and is dedicated to helping both clients and other IT business owners get the best use out of IT.
Lev Ener - Nat Exec
Lev managers an IT Consulting business in Brisbane since year 2000, servicing small to medium size businesses. Lev has joined SMBiT Professionals several years ago and finds the association to be helpful to provide better services for his clients and colleagues.
Clint Simonsen - Director
Clint owns Portable Office Solutions, a nimble technology success partner based in Melbourne specialising in the small to medium business market. Clint has been member of SMBiT Professionals for several years, finding the association to provide some great value for his business.
